Our Royal Onyx Set combines the best of our Onyx range for the ultimate Royalty trear. It consists of the onyx shakers, ornaments and royal onyx tea set. Each of these products are crafted by a sculptor for a period of 21 days from 100% onyx which is mined from Jos, Plateau State in Nigeria, and some parts of the Congo.
Onyx has held a special place as an unusual precious stone for centuries. A type of braided agate, onyx is seen in several natural hues, from deep black to “white” with light brown veining. Today, onyx is associated with royalty. You’ll certainly feel like a part of the royal family when you prepare tea in our exquisitely carved onyx tea set, which comes complete with a gleaming, show stopping teapot and 12 matching teacups. You may use this as a showcase piece for fine dining, or use it as a decor on special occasions
The use of onyx as a precious stone for building, art, and carving predates modern history. In fact, Biblical accounts of this precious, eternal mineral include its presence in the Garden of Eden. Over time, artisans began crafting special individual art pieces from gleaming “white” onyx, which is often discovered braided with hints of gold and light brown patterning. Now you can bring a piece of this artful history into your own home. Our decorative Onyx Ornaments have been lovingly crafted with the same care taken by the ancient stone craftsmen who outfitted royal quarters centuries ago. Each piece is uniquely shaded and shaped by hand.

Legend has it that in the Yoruba tribe in South Eastern Nigeria, there once existed the Obatala, a compassionate and self aware god, who descended from the heavens to create land over the waters and form the first human figures in clay. The raw, natural hand-moulding of this couple has an echo of those origins, both in it's earthly material, terracotta, and in their benevolent, contented expressions...

Several skilled artisans work together for up to three months to create our exclusive Yoruba African Beaded Crown. This heirloom-quality tribal art piece is lovingly crafted in the style of the spectacular ceremonial crowns worn by Yoruba Kings, or Obas, in Western Africa. Yoruba crowns are heavy, perhaps to underscore the strength and weight of the king’s responsibilities. Beads are sacred to the Yoruba, and only a few kings and priests are deemed powerful enough to wear them. The beaded veil hanging down from the headdress covers the king’s face, downplaying his individual identity while reinforcing his role as divine leader.
